The 21st century characteristics of a student in Engineering and include the pursuit of life-long learning, ability to acquire knowledge from neighboring disciplines, team work, creativity & innovation, international outlook.

According to recent report by National Academy of Engineering at U.S., the Engineers of 2020 need to have – ‘the ingenuity of Lillian Gulbereth, the problem solving capabilities of Gordan Moore, the scientific insight of Albert Einsein, the creativity of Pablo Picasso, the determination of Wright brothers, the leadership capabilities of Bill Gates, the vision of Martin Lutherking and the curiosity and wonder of future generations.’

As Board for IT Education is India defined, the education for Engineering should focus on essential quality and excellence, international competitiveness,, national relevance, identification of stake holders and fulfilling of their requirements, emerging demands of the profession, professional ethics, human values, social, ecological and environment responsibilities.

The goal of any Technical Institution should be to provide knowledge, skills and attitude that must turn into employability for technical students upon completion of their studies. Our policies and practices should reflect concern for satisfying needs of the students.
