Department of Information Technology

About the Department

Department of Information Technology was formed in 2001. It is one of the departments functioning from the inception of the Institution. The Department is offering B.Tech. programme from 2001 with an initial intake of 60. The intake is increased to 90 in the year 2007. So far, four batches have graduated.

From the year 2008, the M.Tech (Software Engineering) programme with an initial intake of 18 is started.

The Department has two state-of-the-art Computer Laboratories. One Laboratory for B.Tech students and another lab for M.Tech Students.  An IT Workshop for all First B.Tech students is also available to impart the basic concepts of Hardware and Software.

The department always strives to thrive for the student’s career to reach new heights.

The department functions to make the Vision and Mission of the Institution come true. The Faculty and students of Department Information Technology understood the Vision and Mission of the Institute.

To attain the Vision and Mission of the Institution, the faculty trains the students not only with oral lectures but also with Audio / Visual Teaching aids to make the students well acquainted with the concept. The students are given with assignments, to understand the applications of a concept, soon a concept / Chapter / Unit is completed. The project work is carried out with utmost care so that each student knows the every phase of Software Design process. A few projects carried out with a research paper publication initiative. Remedial classes are conducted for Academically Backward students. The department is always in forefront to adopt the new technology to meet the needs of Industry to provide better education the students. The students of the department are allowed to participate in Intra and Intercollegiate level paper presentation, technical Quizzes and Project work competitions. They are also allowed to participate in literary competitions, cultural activities and Sports and Games to boost their social morals. The students have bought laurels to the Department and to the college, in turn.

Apart from the students, the faculty is encouraged to participate in Seminars, Workshops and Short Term Programs to improve their conceptual skills and advancement in the career.

The Department has organised two National Level Paper Presentation Contests in name of TechnoVista 2k8 and AnuragVista 2K9.

To get rid of aggressive competition in software industry for placements, along with the academics we foster and train the students in the field of Soft Skills too.

Our students are placed in many MNC like Satyam, Wipro, Infosys, Infotech, Evron, Birlasoft, Polosoft etc.

We adhere to provide sustainable quality of the academics, institutional capabilities and got recognition from all stake holders like the end-users, institutional products and the community at large.

These efforts made the Department to get Accredited by AICTE-NBA, a precious jewel in the crown of Department of Information Technology.
